Microsoft Releases Windows 8 Consumer Preview | News & Opinion | PCMag.com.

Microsoft is getting closer to releasing their newest operating system, Windows 8.  Windows 8 will integrate well into tablets, PCs, or touch-based PCs.  Microsoft seems to be taking some cues from Apple, including an app store.  Although Apple brought the multi-touch interface first, Microsoft is bringing it to their PCs before Apple.  Users will have the opportunity to use their desktops and laptops like their phones and tablets.  I have increasing been finding myself trying to use gestures on my laptop screen.

Blogs Away!

March 3, 2012 Leave a comment

It was bound to happen.  It was inevitable.  I wasn’t sure I would ever see this day, but here I am starting my own blog.  It’s kind of funny.  I’m a tech guy, but I can be a slow adopter on the “social” technologies.  Maybe that’s because I am a “computer guy” and therefore lack some social skills or at least I can be more of an introvert.  I created a LinkedIn account early on, but never used it.  I dodged MySpace completely.  I created a Facebook account only because I needed it for information on a class reunion.  But here I am jumping on the blog-wagon.

I’m not sure where this blog will go, but right now I intend to keep it technology focused.  I enjoy new technologies and dream of where it may go some day.  I like thinking of new applications for current technologies.

I can also be very frugal, but I’m not cheap.  There is a difference.  I’m not one who will never spend money.  I like to know that I’m getting great products and that I am getting them at great prices.  I will post some of my better techno-related finds here.
